The consensus was that 2011 was pretty crappy overall. As for me, I thought it was pretty damn good. I (re)met an amazing girl, started an incredible new job, and moved to one of the greatest cities in the world. However, I do think 2012 could be even better.
Every time I do one of these posts, I go back and read what I promised to accomplish during the year. I’m pleased to say that I did almost all of them.

Steve undoubtedly changed technology forever. His vision was impeccable. He affected millions of people’s everyday lives. Let’s work a little bit harder today for Steve.
I am up earlier than normal this morning. I’m not much of a morning person so I’m struggling a bit right now. I’m trying this new thing out; once a week, I will wake up extra early to get some things done that I’d like to cross off my list. Today is a warm-up.
Over the last few months, I’ve met some of the smartest, most passionate people that I’ve met in a long time. Two of them though, inspired me enough and gave me the tools I needed to be able to achieve some of my long term goals.
About two months ago, I attended a Skillshare class about being in control of your passions taught by the talented Amber Rae. It broke down the huge tasks I wanted to accomplish in life and turned them into actionable steps.
Once again, I let my blog slip into the dark corner of the Internet. I never mean to let it happen, it just happens. Partly because I never know what to write and partly because I never think it is good when I do write it. Well hopefully I am over those humps.
It’s been almost three weeks since I started at my new job and I must say, it is going great. I’ve also just started to get a feel for life in NYC. I still need to do more exploring, but since we launched recently, I should have some more free time soon.
As some of my readers may know from my tweet, I recently took a new job as a Junior Designer at Skillshare. I couldn’t be more excited about working on such an amazing product and with such an awesome team. I’ve heard many good things about these guys and can’t wait to get started!

A while back, I read an article in GOOD magazine titled The Lost Generation. To sum it up, it is about a college student, Luke Stacks, who had a lot of trouble finding a job when graduating. It also goes into the incredible statistics on the unemployment rate for people under the age of 25. Go read it if you haven’t already.
I noticed that for most of the people I follow on Twitter, Facebook, and wherever else, 2010 has been a good year. I’m going to have to agree. 2010 was a year of success, fun, and exciting changes changes. I think 2011 can beat it though.
Today I launched another one of my little side projects in my playground area, my photoblog. I wanted it to be simple, but also wanted to use it as an excuse to learn a few new things at the same time. All-in-all it has been a good learning experience.
