Redesign coming

So it is apparent that I have failed to stick with Project52. Besides the fact of being busy, every week when it was time to write an article, I was short on ideas. However, I do intend to post more frequently than my current schedule has been allowing.

Lately, I’ve been having trouble keeping up with the projects that I would like to work on. As some of you may know, one of my goals for this year is to start freelancing part-time. I want to work on some fun projects and gain a lot more experience at the same time. The thought of becoming a business is a little daunting. I have to start thinking about taxes, invoices, contracts, and other necessary parts of being a freelancer. Getting some of these things together has taken some time, but I have also began redesigning this blog.

Redesign

As I was jotting down ideas for expanding this site to have more pages and information, I started to feel like I would have to restructure the current design to make it work the way I would like. I felt like it would be quicker and also more exciting if I redesigned the look of the site as well.

I was lucky enough to score, no pun intended, an invite to the awesome and secretive Dribbble from Meagan Fisher. I received some positive feedback on the early mock ups of the redesign and decided I would go forward with this look. For those of you on Dribbble, you can check out more of the mock ups that I posted.

Early mock up of the home page

This redesign will include my portfolio, my blog, and some contact information. My plans are to stick with WordPress for now and read up on using Pods from Jonathan Christopher. Although I would love to explore Expression Engine and Textpattern, I really want to get this rolled out. WordPress is what I am most familiar with.

Keep an eye out for some updates on my progress from my tweets and some upcoming Dribbble shots.
