Jake Przespo

My name is Jake. I am a 21 year old web designer / developer from upstate New York. I currently work for Granite Services and provide development support for some parts of General Electric. I mostly work on ASP.Net and Oracle development there, but really want to concentrate my free time on designing and learning more PHP. Also, picking up some writing skills along the way wouldn’t be a bad idea either.

The process

It has been a few months of me designing, re-designing, and designing again. I have also been going back and forth between which CMS I wanted to try out. I was familiar with WordPress the most, but intrigued by other CMSs like Expression Engine and Textpattern. Either way, it was going to be one of those three. I finally decided to go with WordPress. It is obviously geared toward blogging, which is what I was after, and it was a smaller learning curve for me than the others.

The designing part has always been a problem with me when working on something personal. I always contradict myself and want to try and do something better. Here are some of the earlier versions I was working on:

I’d like to use this outlet for a few things. First, I’d like to share my thoughts and ideas with the web community. I think it’s good to get conversations started, learn a few things, and make some friends doing it. I also would like to share some of my personal life, like photos and videos that I either take or find interesting. Lastly, I’ve had this idea of coming up with different design solutions for things we use in our lives and would like to share some of those crazy concepts.
